When I was a kid, my dad got us an Atari 2600. My brothers and I played Tank, Pac Man, E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial and Space Invaders until our fingers bled. My dad loved Space Invaders — so much in fact, that we got him the standup arcade version (1979!) for our basement. It eventually died because nobody could fix the bulb inside. Hmmm. Come to think of it, I can’t remember what we did with the arcade game. Anyhoo, this is for you dad!
I still have my Atari in my parents storage closet. Just thinking of it in some random box brings a tear to my eye.
